The calendar list

The CALENDARS group in the sidebar lists every source of events, including the always-present local “Yttri Calendar”.

The coloured dot next to a name toggles that calendar’s visibility in the grid. It is a display filter: syncing continues and the data stays.

Adding a calendar

The plus next to the CALENDARS heading opens Add calendar. There is one direct route — an .ics subscription: the secret address of a Google Calendar, a public iCloud calendar, a published Outlook calendar, a holiday feed.

The fields: a required .ics URL, an optional name (otherwise taken from the feed title) and a colour out of eight swatches. A link to the Google Calendar settings next to the field helps you copy the secret address.

Add via an account… switches to Settings → Accounts, where .ics feeds are added inside an already connected account.

Caution

A third-party CalDAV account cannot be connected with a login and password — only an .ics subscription by link. Google and Exchange calendars arrive with the account you connect in settings.

Changing and removing

Right-clicking a calendar in the list:

• Edit — available for any calendar, local, Google and Exchange included: the name and the colour;
• Delete — only for .ics subscriptions. The local calendar and an account’s native calendars have no such item: they can be renamed and recoloured, and switched off only by removing the account.

The confirmation states plainly that the calendar and its events will be removed from Yttri.

Subscriptions in settings

Settings → Accounts → the account card → Calendar subscriptions (.ics): a list with the last sync time or the error text. Every row has “Refresh now” (a sync outside the schedule) and a delete with a confirmation that names the number of events going away with it.

Semantic layers

Five switches — events and meetings, tasks, finance, CRM and projects, contact dates. In the sidebar and in the filter panel this is one state shown twice.

All of them are on by default. Turning a layer off hides that kind of item from the grid and the timeline and touches neither syncing nor the data.

Limits of this version

• events cannot be dragged around the grid — the time is changed in the form;
• clicking an empty cell always gives a 09:00 slot (or the next half hour today);
• the context menu opens on the details panel header, not on a card in the grid;
• the “Agenda/List” view is not wired up;
• the “Categories” submenu is a placeholder;
• Microsoft Teams and Zoom are unavailable in the meeting form, Google Meet is read-only;
• third-party CalDAV cannot be connected with a login and password.
