Board and templates

The board

The board is a canvas of stickers — freely movable cards for quick thoughts and brainstorming. There can be several boards, each a tab above the canvas with a colour dot, a name and a sticker count.

Clicking a tab switches boards, double-clicking renames one, and the bin on a tab deletes the board with its stickers — but not for good: the stickers go to the shared bin. The “+” after the tabs creates a new board.

Stickers

A sticker is created with the “Sticker” button above the canvas or by double-clicking empty space — then it appears right where you clicked.

A sticker is dragged by its header only; the text body does not respond to dragging. The size is changed by pulling an edge. The header holds a colour dot (the palette unfolds in place), the creation date and a bin: a sticker is deleted instantly, without confirmation.

The body is editable text straight away, with no separate view mode. Images are supported, including pasting several at once from the clipboard, as are links to Yttri objects via [[ with autocomplete over notes, tasks, documents and meetings. Double-clicking an image opens it full-screen.

The text saves itself when focus leaves.

The quick sticker

A compact dialog on a hotkey (configured in Settings → Shortcuts): a text field — Enter sends, Shift+Enter adds a line — and a board picker below. With no boards yet, the sticker creates one with a default name.

The chosen board becomes active afterwards, so you see the new sticker immediately if you switch to the board view.

Templates

A template is a note blank with a ready structure. Built-in templates cannot be edited or deleted: to change one, duplicate it.

A single click opens the template in the editing panel: name, description and body in the same editor as a note, plus a row of buttons that insert placeholders. Create note makes a note from the template and opens it in a new tab; double-clicking the template in the list does the same at once.

Placeholders are substituted when the note is created: {{title}}, {{date}}, {{project}}, {{collection}}. In the template editor they look like ordinary text.
