What happens to a new message
Section titled “What happens to a new message”A new message goes through background analysis:
- importance — does this need you;
- category — finance, orders, notifications and the rest;
- facts — amounts, deadlines, commitments, questions;
- indexing — the message becomes available to search and to the agent.
The importance judgement learns from your behaviour. If you keep marking mail from a domain as unimportant, Yttri offers to stop raising it — and tells you why it’s offering.
Per thread
Section titled “Per thread”- Summary — what the chain is about and where it landed.
- Suggested reply — a draft you can drop into the composer and edit. Sending is always manual.
- Re-analysis — when the previous pass predates newer messages.
Translation
Section titled “Translation”The target language is your interface language, not hardcoded Russian. The menu item says so: “Translate to EN” if your interface is English.
What gets translated. The subject and the body. In HTML messages the markup survives: only the text is replaced, while tables, signatures and images stay where they were.
One message or the whole thread. A single message is translated from the menu; “Translate thread” processes the chain in a batch. The thread item only appears when there is more than one message and something is untranslated.
Language detection. The message’s language is detected automatically, and a message already in your language is skipped — translating a thread simply leaves those alone. But if detection got it wrong, translating a single message by hand runs regardless of the detected language. That rescues the case where the message isn’t actually in the language it was taken for.
The result is stored. The translation is kept with the message: reopen the thread and you see finished text rather than waiting again. There’s also “translate again”, for when the quality didn’t satisfy you.
Where it doesn’t apply. Spam isn’t translated. Translation, like the other language tasks, can run on the local model — in which case the message never leaves the device.
Meaning extraction
Section titled “Meaning extraction”Yttri pulls action items, decisions, commitments, blockers and open questions out of a thread. A commitment becomes a task — with a link to the message it came from.
For messages with money, an operation, subscription or obligation is proposed; all of it is confirmed by you.
The agent and mail
Section titled “The agent and mail”In chat the agent can find messages, read a thread, archive or trash it, mark it read. Sending mail always requires confirmation: the agent drafts, you send.
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”Message text passes sensitive-data masking before it reaches a cloud model. Importance and category analysis can run on the local model — in which case the message never leaves the device.
