Finance — overview

Finance is personal bookkeeping inside Yttri: transactions, assets, liabilities, a payments calendar, budgets, a balance forecast, receivables for delivered work, a net worth report, and automation rules that turn emails and receipts into transactions without typing.

The gear in the submenu header opens Categories — the reference book of categories and types. It is not one of the listed items.

+ New transaction at the bottom of the submenu works from any screen in the section.

The same slide-out panel is used for transactions and for liabilities — the form inside depends on what you are creating. It opens from the button at the bottom of the submenu, from the add buttons on the screens, and by clicking any existing record in any list.

It closes with the cross, Esc, a click on the backdrop or Cancel. In edit mode a red Delete button appears at the bottom left.

The transaction form — four types switched by tabs: income, expense, transfer, refund.

Field Required Note
Type yes income / expense / transfer / refund
Amount yes greater than zero
Currency yes nine fiat codes, rouble by default
Category no the list depends on the type; hidden categories are not offered
Date yes today by default
Project no active ones only; hidden for a transfer
Payment source / From yes for a transfer must differ from “To”
To transfers only the list excludes the chosen source
Description no up to 500 characters

The liability form covers loans, subscriptions, utilities, rent and any custom obligation types: name, type, currency, payment amount (the label changes with the type), payment day, period, counterparty, the account it is charged to, start and end dates. Loans add the total, the outstanding balance and the rate; a credit card adds the limit, the last four digits, the bank, a colour and the grace period.

The Status field (visible when editing) is “Active”, “Paused” or “Closed”. Pausing and closing stop future scheduled charges while the transactions already made stay in the history: it is the safe alternative to deleting.

The charged account is a reference link. By itself it moves no money: the balance changes only when a real transaction is recorded against the obligation.

It opens by default and shows the current month: four metrics (balance, income, expenses, savings), a line chart with a “1 month / 3 months” switch, the five latest transactions with a link to the full list, and a card of upcoming subscriptions.

Clicking a row in “Latest transactions” opens the edit panel.

Summary figures add up records in the base currency only — the rest are visible in the lists but stay out of the totals. The exception is the Reports screen, where positions are converted into the base currency.

The base currency cannot be changed from the interface in this version: the section has no settings screen, and the value is read from a previously saved setting — the rouble by default.
