Events and invitations
Creating
Section titled “Creating”Create in the top bar and New event at the bottom of the sidebar open the same menu of four items:
- a meeting with attendees — the full form with video and a room;
- an event without attendees — a simple local record;
- a task with a due date — switches to CRM and opens the task form with the date already filled in;
- a reminder — a personal alarm at a given time.
The menu header shows the slot you picked, for example “Create · 12 August 2026, 09:00”.
In the grid the same menu opens from a + button: in Month and Week views it appears on hover, but only if the day is still empty (otherwise clicking the day number opens that day’s list). In Day view an empty day shows a large dashed button.
The meeting form
Section titled “The meeting form”It opens as a side panel. The title is required; then come the date, a start time list in 15-minute steps, the quick duration buttons 15m / 30m / 1h and a manual mode with a slider from 5 minutes to 24 hours. The end time is computed and cannot be edited directly. The All day switch removes the time fields.
The remaining sections expand from icon buttons.
Recurrence — none, daily, weekly, monthly or “Custom…”. The custom dialog covers the frequency, an “every N” interval (1–99), weekdays for a weekly rule, a day of the month for a monthly one, and how the series ends: never, on a date, or after N occurrences.
Project — shown only if you have active projects.
Conference link — the densest section:
| Provider | When it is available |
|---|---|
| No video, Custom link | always |
| Yttri Meet | when creating; hidden when editing an existing meeting |
| MTS Link | an Exchange account with an API key configured |
| Skype for Business | Exchange calendars only |
| Microsoft Teams, Zoom | not available yet |
| Google Meet | read-only — the form does not write to Google Calendar |
Attendees — search from two characters over local contacts and, with Exchange connected, the global address list; an address can be typed by hand. Each attendee is a chip with a required/optional switch.
Attendee availability — for Exchange a 8:00–20:00 bar appears under the list: free, tentative, busy, out of office, no data. Overlaps raise a conflict warning above. You cannot click the bar to move the meeting — it is a check, not a scheduler.
Pick a room — for Exchange: room groups, search, a busy indicator, capacity and floor; free rooms come first.
MTS Link settings — a waiting room, a password, and per-attendee rights for the microphone, camera and chat.
Invitation sender — for Yttri Meet on the local calendar: which mail account the invitations go from. If attendees are added but no sender is chosen, saving is blocked.
Calendar — where to save: the local calendar plus writable Exchange and Microsoft calendars. Google calendars and subscriptions are not listed: Yttri cannot write into them.
Saving with Yttri Meet creates the video meeting and its public link first, then the calendar record, then the email invitations.
The event card
Section titled “The event card”Clicking a card opens the details panel on the right.
- Quick actions: “Join” (when there is a link), “Copy” the conference link, and “Dial in” with a PIN if the conference has a phone bridge.
- Attendees — the organiser plus a “Show all” button; every row has an RSVP icon and yours is marked “(You)”.
- My status — for Exchange events where you are not the organiser this is a working Accept / Maybe / Decline choice with a comment to the organiser. For Google and local meetings it is just a badge.
- Meeting summary — appears when a recording is linked: “Open”, “Unlink”, and markdown editing. With no recording you get a “Link a recording” button.
- Notes — “Create note” makes a note titled “{Meeting} — {date}”, links it to the meeting and opens the editor. There can be several.
- Reminders — three states: inheriting the global settings (“as configured: 15, 5 and 1 minute before”), a custom set of intervals, and an explicit “no reminder for this meeting”. The last one is a deliberate refusal rather than “as usual”; a button returns you to inheriting.
- Tags — added by hand from “+” or generated by the AI button.
If a local meeting has no extended data, a simplified card is shown: time, place, attendees, description and the same reminders section.
RSVPs, forwarding, “show as”
Section titled “RSVPs, forwarding, “show as””Right-clicking the header of the open details panel (not a card in the grid) opens the action menu: join, accept / maybe / decline, propose a new time, forward, reply, and “show as” (free, tentative, busy, out of office, working elsewhere).
Everything to do with proposing a time, forwarding and free/busy status is Exchange-only. The “Categories” submenu is a placeholder and is always empty.
Editing and deleting
Section titled “Editing and deleting”The panel header holds a pencil and a bin. For a local meeting the pencil opens the edit form; for a Google event with a link it opens the event in Google Calendar in an external browser. The bin asks for confirmation and deletes for good.
Exchange events have neither button: they are changed from the context menu or in your mail client.
Other kinds of item
Section titled “Other kinds of item”Tasks, payments, projects, deals, leads and contact dates open a compact card with a block of their own:
- task — the task fields and an “Open in its section” button;
- payment — the amount with a sign and colour, the grounds, the invoice number; while the payment is open you get “Mark as paid” / “Mark as received” and “Skip”, with links to the transaction and the obligation below;
- project, deal, lead — the main fields and a jump into CRM;
- contact date — the contact card.
If the source record has been deleted, the card says so plainly and the link does nothing.
A reminder is an alarm, not a meeting: it has no notes, tags, links or attendees. While it is open you get “Snooze 10 minutes / 1 hour / tomorrow at 9:00” and “Dismiss”. “Reschedule” is always available, even after dismissal.
